Kathleen D. Bailey

I'm a freelance and staff writer with a lifetime devotion to the printed, and now the digital page. Born in 1951, I was a child in the 50s, a teen in the 60s and 70s and a young mom in the 80s. It was a turbulent, colorful time to come of age. I've enjoyed every minute of it, and written about most of it.  I'll share some of that on this site, along with book reviews and snippets from my fiction writing. Join me in the wonderful world of words!

What's new!

Pleased to announce that I won my category, Romance, for the Genesis Awards at the American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) Conference in September. So humbled and honored to be recognized by my peers. The book is "A Hilltop Christmas," and more on that story can be found in my "Hilltop Christmas" tab on this site. For more on the conference, go to my "Awards" tab.
Completed the galley proof edits for my last first novel, "Westward Hope,"
part of my "Western Dreams" series. Pelican/White Rose is my publisher and the pub date set for Sept. 19.
Will be taking to the road with my friend and critique partner Clarice James for more of her "Road to Publication" workshops. Can't wait, now I finally have something to contribute.
Also continuing to work in the nonfiction field with regular stories in the New Hampshire Union Leader and Exeter News-Letter. I cover Epping, Kensington and Brentwood, New Hampshire, for the News-Letter and do special sections for the Union Leader.
For more on "Westward Hope," visit the Western Dreams section of this website.
